Experiment of cross ventilation |
Cross-ventilation during summer months has long had an important influence
on the environmental performance(livability) of residential buildings
and other architectural structures. This research facility has been
constructed with the ultimate goal of composing design guidelines that
will provide a more rational and systematic foundation for good cross
ventilation design. The facility contains a recirculating closed-circuit
wind tunnel allowing wind flowing at speeds up to 18k.p.h. to be directed
from any angle toward real size test buildings of various frontages,
thus enabling the visualization and quantification of ventilation phenomena.
