Promotion of Research and Development in Socially Significant Themes

On the basis of the 4 targets of research and development shown by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, BRI is focusing on the "Priority Research Themes" which are socially significant and urgent, and putting about 75% of its research budgets intensively in research and development on those themes. BRI is steadily conducting the "Basic Research Themes" too.
BRI is actively attempting to gain outside competitive funds, implementing joint researches with universities, private companies, etc. in appropriate allocation of roles with them, accepting outside researchers and conducting research evaluation by outside experts in order to carry out research and development properly without overlaps with other research institutes.

4 Targets of Research and Development shown by the Minister of Land, Infrastracture, Transport and Tourism
1) Realization of Sustainable Housing, Buildings and Urban Communities by Green Innovations
2) Realization of Secure and Safe Housing, Buildings and Urban Communities
3) Maintenance and Revitalization of Existing Housing, Buildings and Urban Communities Coping with the Declining and Aging Population
4) International Contributions by Building and City Planning Technology and Response to Informatization
